XII Colorado Whiskey is an exceptional and bold expression that delights the palate with a rich tapestry of flavors. Distillery 291’s 12th Anniversary release is a batch of 3 year old rye whiskey barrels bottled at 134.6 proof.

Your palate is met with the rugged nostalgia of sarsparilla, like an old saloon in the wild west. It’s got the grit of a weathered tack room and the worn-in feel of aged leather, all rolled into one sip.

The complexity deepens with notes of black licorice, adding a touch of anise-like sweetness, and a comforting undertone of brown sugar that brings warmth to the forefront. Hints of cocoa powder provide a subtle bitterness that balances the sweetness, while the oak undertones offer a sturdy backbone and contribute to its well-rounded character.

Utilizing grains from the Colorado plains and water collected from Pikes Peak reservoirs, Myers turned his artist’s eye towards whiskey and hasn’t looked back. Everything matters.
